About Us

Our Staff:

Our staff believe in Johnstown and in the lives of the people who live here. We acknowledge that our area isn’t perfect though, and no city is. Layers of brokenness, crime, and poverty exist just under the surface of every town in every nation. These issues won’t be solved quickly or easily, but through long-term and loving commitment, we believe life and wholeness can be found. Through our organization, we believe we can be a piece of the puzzle that helps put the Johnstown District back together.

Vision

Our vision statement is simple yet powerful. We aspire to serve as a change agent, paving a pathway toward sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Organizational
History:

United Methodist Human Services was started as a flood relief agency after the 1977 flood and has since developed into a service agency that offers help to those in need. We are an outreach of the Churches of the Johnstown District of the Western PA Conference of the United Methodist Church.

Who We
Serve:

United Methodist Human Services serves all of Cambria county and adjoining parts of Somerset, Bedford and Clearfield counties. Through our faith in Christ and our community partnerships, we develop relationships that empower and transform individual lives, families and future generations.
